Interior stylists, bloggers, and content creators based in Nottingham, Homebirds Interiors duo Emma and Laura are a creative force to be reckoned with. Friends for almost 20 years, this inspiring pair connected through their shared passion for home design and interiors. We were delighted to work with Laura on her new build bathroom—a warm and timeless space with Mediterranean influences.
A traditionalist at heart, Laura wanted to combine this tried-and-true look with playful, modern accents and travel-inspired surface styles.
The final look is warm and timeless. Hampton cabinets, brass accents, statement tiling, and warm terracotta flooring all come together to create a distinctively modern yet still traditional bathroom. It is full of personality, with a feminine flair that is both stylish and fun.
Laura from Homebirds
"The Hampton double vanity unit is the focal point of the space and my ‘stand out’ design element, with solid Strata Cararra worktop and ample storage. We accessorised the vanity with simple yet striking brassware and accessories, from taps, to mirrors and lighting, all framed with stacked zellige tiles, which I fell in love with from the get go."
Substance over style. Before considering colour and surfaces, start with your layout and practical requirements. Make your bathroom vanity the focal point of your bathroom by opting for traditional cabinetry with ample storage space.
Add colour and texture. Laura chose an inspired combination of herringbone terracotta tiles and zellige wall tiles in earthy, natural colours, evoking a Mediterranean feel.
Finishing touches. Bring the look together with complementary accessories and decor that unify the look. From mirrors to lighting and hardware options, Laura opted for brass accents throughout, right down to matching WC cover caps!
