Roper Rhodes At Home

Bathroom design competition

For the month of February, we invited avid bathroom designers from around the UK to share their bathroom transformations, featuring Roper Rhodes products. Whether they mastered modern minimalism, embraced bold colours, or created a timeless classic, we wanted to see the transformations!

Meet the winner

Emma Bowman

Emma Bowman of @ourhighviewhome created and designed a beautiful, charming, timeless bathroom that caught the eye of our panel of judges. Each bathroom design was judged on four key categories; product integration, use of colour and pattern, practicality and space optimisation. Emma's design shone in all four categories.

Product Integration

Emma has cleverly designed the bathroom to make the most of the space. The Widcombe Curved Double Basin Unit stands centre stage, along with the beautiful bathtub. The brass touches through accessories and tile edging ties in perfectly with the Keswick Brassware throughout the bathroom.

Use of Colour and Pattern

The palette within Emma's bathroom is warm and inviting. The tones are cohesive through every aspect of the space - from the mocha shade on the walls, the colour of the furniture, the brassware and even the artwork. The use of accessories to style the room add an eclectic touch.

Practicality

Not only is it beautiful, Emma's bathroom is functional. The 1200mm Widcombe Unit provides ample storage for all the toiletries and linens that are needed in a family bathroom. The walk-in corner shower makes use of an awkward space whilst still feeling luxury. Even down to the style, the timeless interior will stand the test of time.

Space Optimisation

The bathroom space has been used to the best of it's ability, with a perfectly suited Widcombe unit, corner shower and bathtub! The double basin allows for all the family to make use of the space whilst the large antique-style mirror bounces light around the room. We love the addition of the wooden shelf above the bathtub - it allows for even more of Emma's personality to shine through within the carefully selected accessories.

Emma's renovation story

What sparked the bathroom renovation?

"The bathroom we inherited was dated and filthy, so we called in my brother’s bathroom installation company to gut the room and install the new bathroom. Portishead Group did a fabulous job advising us on what was possible and tolerating my many ideas and small details!"

What made you pick Roper Rhodes products?

"I fell in love with the brass Keswick range early on in the planning - and being a Bath resident I loved the local connection too. I sourced most of the items individually from various online retailers. The Widcombe vanity was a very lucky find in the seconds department of the local Total Bathrooms."

"We’re delighted with how much more functional and elegant the space is now."
