Smart Lighting

Setting up and using your WiZ smart light with the WiZ Connected app is a straightforward process. Here's a step-by-step guide:

DOWNLOAD THE WIZ CONNECTED APP

1. If you haven't already, download the WiZ Connected app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and install it on your smartphone or tablet.
2. Open the WiZ Connected app and follow the prompts to create a new account. If you already have an account, log in.
3. You can either choose to create a home or join an existing home system with an invitation code or QR code from the homeowner.
4. Begin the process by creating a room within the app from which to control your smart lighting. You can have multiple bulbs or devices in a room.

CONNECT YOUR SMART LIGHT OR LIGHT STRIP

1. Screw your WiZ smart bulb into the desired light fixture and turn it on. The bulb will blink three times, indicating it's ready for setup.
2. In the WiZ app, tap the "+" icon on the top right to add a new device.
3. Choose the type of device you're setting up (in this case, a lightbulb or LED strip).
4. The app will search for WiZ smart bulbs connected to your Wi-Fi network. Make sure your phone is connected to the same network.
5. Once the app finds your smart bulb, you'll be prompted to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. Enter your network's password and wait for the smart bulb to connect.

CONNECT YOUR SMART MIRROR

Our Link and Ritual smart mirrors are conveniently designed with Connected by WiZ bulbs. To connect your mirror follow the steps below:

1. In the WiZ app, tap the "+" icon on the top right to add a new device.
2. The app will not give you the option of a 'mirror' device, please choose a 'lightbulb' from the selection of devices.
3. The app will search for WiZ smart bulbs connected to your Wi-Fi network. Make sure your phone is connected to the same network.
4. Once the app finds your smart bulb, you'll be prompted to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. Enter your network's password and wait for the smart bulb to connect.

MOBILE APP CONTROL

All aspects of your smart light or smart mirror can be controlled via the Connected by WiZ app, including lighting temperature and schemes, scheduling, and settings. Please ensure you are connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your smart device.

Tap on your lightbulb's name to access its controls. From here, you can turn the light on or off, adjust brightness, change the color, set smart lighting schedules, and more.

SMART BUTTON CONTROL

To add a Smart button in a home, start by making sure you have installed at least one light, dimmer switch or smart plug in the app, and that this device is currently powered on and connected. WiZ accessories are detected by the nearby devices, which is why at least one device needs to be present and online.

1. On the home screen of the app, tap the + button in the top right corner
2. Among the list of products, select Smart button.
3. Choose the room in which you want to install your button. Make sure that room has at least one connected device. If you want your button to control lights across multiple rooms, this can be set up at a later stage
4. Hit the start button
5. Press a few times on the ON button, until the app confirms the Smart button has been added

SMART DEVICE VOICE CONTROL

WiZ smart bulbs are compatible with many smart home devices that facilitate voice control, allowing you to control your lighting with ease.

A full list of smart home integrations can be found within the WiZ app, within "Settings" and "Integrations". To connect your lighting to your smart home device, follow the instructions below for Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri integrations. Other smart device platform instructions can be found via the WiZ website.

Google Assistant

1. Make sure your WiZ light is set up through the WiZ app and is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Google Assistant device.
2. Open the Google Home app on your smartphone or tablet.
3. Tap the "+" sign to add a new device and select "Set up device."
4. Choose "Have something already set up?" to search for and select "WiZ" from the list of available services.
5. Sign in with your WiZ account credentials to link it to Google Assistant.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup, and assign your WiZ lights to a room.
7. Once linked, you can control your WiZ lights with commands like, "Hey Google, dim the living room lights."

Siri (Apple HomeKit)

As of my last update in January 2022, WiZ lights were not directly compatible with Apple HomeKit, which is what Siri uses to control smart home devices. However, you can use Siri Shortcuts to control your WiZ lights with Siri:

1. Set up your WiZ lights in the WiZ app.
2. Go to the "Profile" tab in the WiZ app and select "Siri Shortcuts."
3. Add a new Siri Shortcut for the WiZ action you want (e.g., turning on a light).
4. Record your voice command for Siri.
5. Once set up, you can use that voice command with Siri to control your WiZ lights.

Alexa

1. Set up your WiZ light through the WiZ app.
2. Open the Alexa app and go to the "More" tab.
3. Select "Skills & Games" and search for the "WiZ" skill.
4. Enable the WiZ skill and sign in with your WiZ account to link it.
5. Ask Alexa to discover new devices by saying, "Alexa, discover my devices" or use the Alexa app to manually add your WiZ lights.
6. Once discovered, you can control your lights with commands like, "Alexa, turn on the bedroom lights."

These integrations allow for convenient voice control over your WiZ smart bulbs, enhancing the smart home experience. Make sure your apps and devices are updated to the latest versions for the best performance.
